Sardine

Belonging to the category of “oily” fish, sardines are considered a nutritionally complete food. They are rich in high-quality lipids, omega-3, fatty acids, and proteins, and contain all nine essential amino acids, as well as iron, phosphorus, calcium, selenium, and vitamins B3, B12, and D.

Sardines are harvested along the Atlantic coast, from Portugal to southern Morocco. In Brazil, this species is commonly referred to as Portuguese Sardine and is highly regarded for its mild flavor and optimal size for grilling or oven roasting.
